Vantage Detailing was founded by two lifelong car enthusiasts who grew up with a shared passion for vehicles and presentation.
While working on a job site, we watched a meticulously detailed sales vehicle arrive. It wasn't just the car that stood out — it was the reaction. Heads turned. Conversations paused. Attention shifted instantly to the vehicle, the company branding, and the presence of the person driving it.
That moment made everything clear. That was the moment Vantage Detailing was created.
With over 2.5 years of hands-on experience and the past year spent delivering professional services to corporate fleet partners across Auckland, we've refined our craft through real results — not theory.
Cars have always been part of my life. I come from a family where vehicles and racing are basically in our DNA, so caring about them came naturally to me. I grew up go-karting at the Mt Wellington track and eventually got into racing with my own team in the Lemons series. It was a lot of fun, a lot of learning — and honestly, it just confirmed what I already knew. I love this stuff.
I still work on my own projects on the side, so when I'm not running the business, you'll usually find me elbow-deep in something.
Starting Vantage Detailing felt like the obvious next step. Commercial fleets are how a lot of businesses show up in the world, and I genuinely believe a clean, well-presented fleet says something real about a company. We started this business because we actually care about the work — not just as a service, but as something worth doing properly.
That's really what Vantage is about: people who give a damn about vehicles, helping businesses that give a damn about how they're seen.
Some of my earliest memories are of cleaning cars for pocket money as a child — and I remember it feeling like such a chore. One day, after a long road trip, the family car was a mess: dust all over the exterior and half of the coastline's sand inside the car. I dreaded the thought of cleaning it and all the time I could be spending watching TV or playing games. But it was during that moment that I fell in love with the process — and it's a memory that has stayed with me.
As I got older, the road trips stopped as life got busy, and my knack for cleaning cars faded along with them. A couple of years later, I picked up an odd job and fell back in love with the process of turning a beloved car from grimy and tired to looking straight off the lot.
Starting Vantage with my co-founder felt like the natural next step. Businesses grow, and as they do, they need to accommodate the needs of their team. It starts with one vehicle, which becomes two, and before long there's a fleet of cars with a business logo stamped loud and proud on each one — a proud display of the company that's been built.
